How I See It: Newark in Pretty Pictures
March 21st, 2009

If the age of citizen journalism has taught us anything, it’s that if you give cameras to enough people, you’re going to strike some gold. Newark Now has known that for five years now. Come to the fifth annual How I See It event and you’ll see what we mean. The organization: Newark Now. This year’s theme: Newark… Now.
How I See It arms Newarkers with disposable cameras, basic training and instructions to go forth and photograph: see something in Newark that inspires and snap away. And despite wielding drugstore cameras, despite having nearly no formal training, these citizen-photographers have taken some amazing shots. We could try and describe them for you, but you’re better off checking out the Tritonic-designed invitation that features a collage of photos from past HISIs. Oh, and you should also go to the show on April 16, 6 p.m. at JT’s Barbeque, 1011 Broad St.
