Have a drink (for the kids)

23rd Wine Tasting - Tritonic

23rd Wine Tasting - Tritonic

Nothing says “child outreach” better than a wine tasting event. Sample your favorite vintage, comment on the bouquet (”Do I detect a hint of… boysenberry?”), discuss it with a sommelier, and best of all, do it for the kids!

We’re serious. The Boys and Girls Club of Newark is having their 23rd annual Wine Tasting Benefit, with all proceeds going to support the club. No, the kids won’t be there, and it’s likely for the best. The grown-ups in attendance will be doing their part to pay for another year of great BGCN programming. We designed the invitations for the event, and if we say so ourselves, they look pretty slick with this distressed wood effect. So please, have a drink. For the children.

The Hub Vol. 3 - Tritonic

We love The Hub. Newark Now’s quarterly newsletter is always one of our favorite projects, and it’s our honor and pleasure to help tell the world about all the good that comes from this amazing organization. We would go on, but anyone who’s seen this site knows all about our Newark Now crush. And if you want to learn more about them, don’t take our word for it, visit the site! Or volunteer!

On Banners and Block Parties

October 1st, 2009

glocally

As the old saying goes: if you’ve got something to say, say it with a 7-foot tall banner. The saying was likely coined by banner salesmen, but that doesn’t make it less true. And brother, we’ve got a message: Think global. Be local.

That’s the ethos of Newark’s premier culture blog: GlocallyNewark.com. They’ll be preaching that gospel tonight (with the help of both the Tritonic-designed banner and Tritonic) at the second Halsey Street Block Party. Historic Halsey from Central Ave. to Bleeker St. will be closed to vehicles and open to live music, outdoor movies, art, food, drink and assorted awesomeness. Be sure to grab an “H St.” pin, as designed by our very own Andres Jimenez. And there will be celebrity guests! If you count the Tritonic staff as celebrities. Which we do.
