Hey print design enthusiasts and annual-reportophiles: today is your day. The Tritonic-designed Boys and Girls Club of Newark ’07 Annual has arrived, the report so annual you need an extra year just to mentally prepare for it.
It looks hot. Bright, summery colors, a layered accordion fold that makes a stair-step effect, and plenty of great pictures of the kids. Combine all that with the details about their amazing programming and you get a piece worth getting excited about. We can’t wait to find out what they did in 2008. In 2010.

The Glocally Newark Launch party was just about the only place on the planet cool enough to have — in one space — live music, live blogging, mini Colt 45 bottles and a fort.
Yeah, a fort. It was a blow-up tent with ‘60s style cushions and psychedelic visuals projected onto the walls. Glocally Newark is the best new resource on the Web for arts and cultural information about Newark, written by Newark bloggers who live it every day. We were psyched to be involved in just about every aspect of the party, from designing the concept, laying out the space, doing the graphic design, invitation design, recruiting sponsors and more. And we also participated heavily in enjoying the party (which included a performance by up-and-comer Hal Linton). Check the photostream.
We love Glocally and can’t wait to get more involved in future projects. If it’s cool and happening in Newark, they’ll be there. And will possibly build a fort.

Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with all Newark Now has going on. The Financial Empowerment Center, the Family Success Center, Super Summer, the Comprehensive Center for Fathers … the list goes on. If you can think of a service to help the City of Newark, Newark Now probably has two guys on it and a five-year plan (and hopefully with a little Tritonic action, a logo). So where can someone go to even remember all they’re up to?
Easy: The Hub. The Newark Now newsletter is a Newarker’s guide to all these amazing — and amazingly free — programs. We do their newsletter design every three months, and it’s always one of our favorite projects. Plus it has an awesome flip-up poster in the middle, complete with Mayor @CoryBooker looking particularly mayoral at the bottom of a slide.
